Avanti Recruitment are currently working with a fantastic start-up company based in London who are looking to create the best Mobile games on the market. This role is fully remote however the company may get people to come into the office after Covid a coupleof days a week.

The company are currently on the lookout for Junior Java/Scala Developers. The company predominately use Scala but they will look at people with a Java background who would be willing to move to Scala.

Your roles and responsibilities will include implementation of the game feature logic on the server side, writing unit test, designing the game feature prototypes and communications between client and server. You will also be involved in the maintenanceof the server project, test, build and deploy process.

The successful Junior Developer will be involved in the full software development lifecycle and will be joining a company where innovation is highly encouraged. You will be working with the latest technologies including AWS, they will be happy to train youon this. You will take on more responsibility then you would normally get joining a larger company, meaning you can have more of an input and an impact on the company.
You will have great career opportunities as the company grow in size and you will be working on some exciting games with some of the worlds largest social media platforms. The company are looking to hire at least 10 people in the next few months but currentlyhave 2 vacancies.

The company have a fantastic company culture with everyone getting along so well, it has been described as a real family feel and close-knit team. They do weekly games as a team to ensure team building, they go for quarterly days out and enjoy having a drink/karaoketogether.

Everyone in the company is technical including the CEO who has worked for companies such as EA.

Skills required:

- 2:1 or Above in Computer Science
- Minimum of 1 Year commercial Java experience
- Experience of Git
- Spring

Desirable skills:

- AWS (EC2)
- Docker/Kubernetes
- Kotlin
- Protocol Buffers
- IntelliJ
- Redis
- Jenkins CI

The salary on offer for the Junior Developer position is £40,000 + Share options.
