Job Description*
Who are we looking for?*
The procurement team is currently looking for a talented and driven Procurement Business Partner to provide support to the wider team. You will help to ensure compliance with Public Sector Procurement regulations and coordinate multiple projects across the organisation.
You will help to achieve the organisational goals by ensuring UKAEA is compliant with European Commission and UK directives for procurement in the public sector, helping the organisation in the achievement of its own milestones and also impacting the achievement of BEIS targets and milestones. In addition, you will be expected to actively mentor and develop new starters, helping them with their learning, and supporting them in delivering a first-class procurement service to the organisation.
You will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, obtaining, and inspecting goods and services to enable the daily operations of the business.
To be successful in this role you must demonstrate excellent verbal and writing skills and ideally have obtained an MCIPS qualification or you are willing to study towards it.
**What will you be responsible for?**
- Managing projects and working in order to deliver required results within specification, time and cost parameters.
- Checking/signing off work completed by others in their area of specialism to ensure quality and consistency.
- Coaching and supervising others in their field of expertise in order to develop overall capability CPM.
- Setting and monitoring standards within own area to establish and maintain best practice and quality. Identify opportunities for improvements and propose solutions in order to contribute to continuous improvement within UKAEA.
- Communicating with a range of UKAEA colleagues to ensure a shared understanding of work requirements and progress.
- Coordinating and working to deliver projects.
Qualifications*
Essential skills, experience and competence required*
- Planning and coordinating projects and/or significant packages of work within a major and diverse project capacity.
- Running teams and have a vast technical knowledge of PCR 2015 NEC Contracts Framework establishment.
- EU Supply (OJEU) tender requirements.
- MCIPS qualified
- Experience of Public Sector Procurement and knowledge of OJEU
**Desirable** skills*
- Experience working on Decommissioning
- A good technical appreciation of the range of procurement categories
- Good procurement strategic knowledge and experience.
- Ability to negotiate at the highest levels with suppliers
- Commercially astute and customer focused
- Excellent negotiation skills with some knowledge of NEC form of Contract
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to influence at senior levels
- Be a good team player with ability to work effectively as part of the Group Procurement Team
