Head of Housing

We are currently recruiting for an experienced **Head of Housing** to have full responsibility for the delivery of the Housing Services relating to Lettings, Housing Management and Repairs. To have day to day management responsibility for the service managers who deliver these services. Have good systems for performance management and review to ensure that all the service targets are met. To look for opportunities to grow the business through developing links with partners.

**Reports to**:Strategic Director
**Location**: Stamford Hill, North London
**Hours**: Monday - Friday, 9.30am - 5.30pm
**Terms & remuneration**:£50,000 - £55,000 per annum. Work-place pension, 28 days annual leave, support for securing professional qualifications, flexible working, performance related bonus

**Main duties**:

- Lead officer for the delivery of the full range of housing services ranging from allocations, repairs, housing management and rent collection.
- Provide day to day management of the staff responsible for delivering this service.
- To set and monitor performance targets through good systems and communication with staff.
- To act as the main point of contact with strategic partners to ensure excellent collaborative working to achieve shared outcomes.
- Be able to identify improvement opportunities and take this through to implementation.
- Be able to manage major change and be able to project manage.
- Excellent communication skills in all forms and at different levels, having the confidence to take the lead in situations which require skill and diplomacy.
- Look for opportunities to expand the business through good partnership working
- Liaise with the GLA, Homes England, local authorities and other statutory bodies as required. This will include discussing new bids and submitting grant claims.
- Take the lead on income recovery for rents making sure targets are being met and positive action taken to keep within the target for arrears.
- Ensure the housing repairs and maintenance function is delivered within targets and to a high standard through excellent contract management.
- Maintain a list of approved contractors to ensure effective delivery of repairs and management.

**Requirements for role**:

- Extensive experience of managing and delivering housing services
- Have extensive experience of working in fast moving organisation with a willingness to take on new challenges with a positive attitude.
- Experience of managing staff in different teams delivering housing services.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Performance management experience
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Flexible approach to changing circumstances with a willingness to take on new tasks
