**POSITION PROFILE OR JOB PURPOSE**:
- To be totally customer-focused by consistently delivering excellent customer service with an informed, friendly and effective approach.
- To ensure that maintenance and repairs to the hotel are completed to an acceptable standard, thus ensuring continuity of service of all facilities within the hotel.
- To promote the Valor Hospitality Europe Limited purpose, values, and behaviours at all times
**ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- To have a thorough knowledge of the operation of all plant, boiler and air conditioning and heating equipment in the hotel and maintain in an efficient working order.
- In the absence of the Maintenance Manager, to liaise with Service Engineers with regard to breakdowns and scheduled services and acquire as much background information on the problems in order to further develop personal skills.
- Carry out short term maintenance work - emergency repairs affecting guest bedrooms and services with immediate effect.
- To liaise fully with all departments with regard to maintenance, especially Housekeeping and the food production areas.
- Deal with emergency and breakdown calls quickly and efficiently.
- To check all maintenance stocks on a regular basis, ordering appropriate stocks when necessary to maintain continuity of service to all other departments.
- Ensure all security procedures laid down by the hotel are strictly adhered to. This to include the use of a work register for outside Contractors.
- To follow the company's Health and Safety policy and to complete all duties on the Health and Safety checklists as soon as possible. Otherwise to liaise with the appropriate Department Manager, General Manager and external Contractors.
- To check fire alarm systems weekly, maintaining all records in the Fire Manual.
- To carry out painting and decorating where required.
- To consistently deliver superior customer service.
- To have an awareness of electrical regulations and ensure these are complied with throughout at all times.To attend training when required
- To be fully aware of and adhere to Health and Safety, Fire Safety, Security and Bomb Threat procedures laid out by the Company/Hotel.
- To ensure on all occasions you observe safe and hygienic working practices in order to satisfy Health and Safety at Work and other statutory legislation.
- To be fully aware of and comply with hotel and company rules and regulations as identified in the team member handbook.
**DESIRED SKILLS AND EDUCATION**:
- Basic electrical knowledge
- Previous plumbing experience
- Previous maintenance experience within the hospitality industry
- Previous supervisory/management experience
- Good understanding of spoken and written English Language
