**I am looking for a Personal Care Assistant **to join my team. I am a young man, living independently in Pontypridd, I have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a muscle wasting disease, which means I require help to live my life to the max.

The role involves working for, and supporting me to lead an independent and fulfilling life. I have complex care needs and need support 24 hours a day. I am looking for someone who is able to commit to 12 hours a week, (there is a possibility of more once trained, if required. The hours required can be found below.

Duties will include
- Accompanying me out, to the cinema, for meals, to concerts, and my band practice, etc.
- Driving my accessible vehicle
- completing personal care tasks i.e., toileting, showering and shaving me, (making me look pretty)
- getting me up and dressed
- domestic duties i.e., housekeeping, preparing drinks and meals, and feeding me
- companionship, etc.
- maintaining and assisting my use of medical equipment (I use non-invasive ventilation full time, for which training will be given)

**Importantly **the role is to enable me to get outdoors in my local area, and further afield. Allowing me to maintain my personal, and professional relationships. Therefore, the ability and enjoyment of driving is essential.

You will be generally helping me live my life

**_Shifts: _**

**_Monday 4pm until 10pm_**

**_Sunday 4pm until 10pm_**

£10.00 hourly rate. _(Additional hours available)_
- should enjoy going out
- should have a positive attitude with a caring, and compassionate nature.
- must hold a valid driver’s license.
- should have a can do, and professional attitude to your work.
- must be able to follow instructions, as well as being able to work on your own initiative.
- be comfortable with some manual handling/lifting.
- Experience with care preferable, but not essential. Training is provided.
- Preference for PAs to be self-employed.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 12 per week

**Salary**: £10.00 per hour
