**Freight Forwarding Manager (Multi Modal)**

**Monday - Friday, (Remote)**

I’m currently recruiting for an experienced Ocean Freight Manager to join a leading freight forwarding business.

They are seeking an Ocean Freight Manager to develop and manage the ocean freight department.

- Freight Forwarding experience essential (Multi Modal advantageous)
- At least 2 years’ experience
- Proven experience of rate negotiation with both clients and third parties
- Strong commercials skills and business acumen are necessary as is the ability to identify and maximize opportunity.
- Results driven with a measured and consistent approach with thew ability to inspire and motivate
- Must have a ‘can do’ attitude
- Presentable, polite and demonstrate excellent customer service skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Competent decision making
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines

**Duties and Responsibilities;**
- Managing and overseeing the daily site operations, activities and personnel
- Helping set up and develop a new branch
- Building and growing strong commercial relationships with key clients to meet their needs
- Develop and building a strong ocean freight forwarding division
- Negotiating and managing 3PL carrier rates
- Performance management of all carriers
- Customer service - resolving customer issues/complaints and ensuring critical KPI's are met.
- Coordination with external compliance provider
- Procedural accuracy, training and full compliance of all ocean freight operations.
- Liaising with sub-contractors
