Inspire has been supporting adults with learning disabilities in Elgin since 1992 and today we operate two housing support services within the town.

We are currently seeking Relief Support Workers to join our permanent team members to help the local people we support continue to get the most out of life and play a full and active role within their community.

**Could This Be The Job For You?**

Edgar Road is one of our established services in Elgin, which we have operated since 1996, where we enable 9 people - four men and five women, ranging in age from 28 to 75 - to live at home with appropriate levels of support.

McIntosh Drive is another of our established services within Elgin, where we enable 4 people - two men and two women, ranging in age from their late 20’s to their early 70’s.

All the people we support have a variety of interests including football, bowling, darts, listening to music and singing, arts and crafts, pottery and getting out and about in the community - meaning no two days at the services are truly ever the same Some of those supported also participate in Inspire’s ‘added-value’ activities programme, attending events both virtually and in-person.

The people currently supported by Inspire in Elgin also have a mixture of communication levels and physical capabilities, which adds further to the variety of the role.

Although our work can be challenging it is also immensely rewarding as Relief Support Workers play a vital role in developing and maintaining the important life skills and encouraging the participation and integration required for the people we support to flourish and live the life that they want.

As a Relief Support Worker you will participate in household tasks, including cleaning, cooking, ironing and washing while encouraging the people we support to join in. You will also accompany people on outings to the shops, or to attend social events, and help with the administration of medication and maintaining people’s dignity through the provision of quality personal care, depending on individual needs.

Relief Support Workers at Inspire receive £10.50 an hour. There is also a £200 Refer a Friend scheme.
