To act as a professional resource and support for junior nursing staff and to undertake the role of clinical supervisor, promoting and facilitating the use of evidence based practice, patient assessment, clinical analytical skills and patient early warning systems. To provide a Hospital wide supervisory presence outside of normal weekday office hours and to utilise appropriate support mechanisms such as on-call managers to facilitate the efficient and safe operation of the Hospital. The promotion and use of Corporate and Clinical Governance systems to monitor and develop clinical services. The promotion and participation in multi-disciplinary and team working in the delivery of patient focussed care.

To maintain own individual practice as a Registered Nurse, including ongoing professional educational development and registration requirements. To undertake own individual practice within professional competencies and skills. To lead and participate in the creation and maintenance of a safe environment, in which high quality, effective patient/customer focussed services are delivered within agreed standards, timeframes and costs. The leadership and management of designated clinical and managerial specialisms to help achieve agreed clinical, business and financial objectives.

The leadership and management of health and safety activities within designated areas to promote a safe environment for patients, staff, other users and visitors in accordance with the Hospitals overall Health and Safety Plan and the relevant legislation. The participation in departmental based personnel functions including recruitment, staff development and appraisal to facilitate the achievement of the Hospitals objectives. To positively promote with staff, users, patients and other visitors the ethos of Spire Healthcare and the Claremont Hospital, based on a demonstrable empathetic and sensitive approach to the care of patients, relatives, users and colleagues. Appropriately supporting relatives and significant others.
