**About the role**

Here at Zimmer Biomet Bridgend Plant we have a Warehouse Unit Leader position available. This position will oversee the receiving of commodities and the storage of raw materials while ensuring that internal customers receive an excellent level of service at all times. In addition, this position will also ensure production orders and raw materials are supplied on schedule in compliance with internal and external regulatory standards. Maintain a healthy, safe, and environmentally conscious operation while promoting continuous improvement and quality excellence.

**Principal Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Develop, document, and enforce measurable processes to establish and maintain raw material accuracy in line with ABC definitions, issuing regular reports on accuracy level and improvement plans.
- Ensure FIFO.
- Ensure perpetual inventory is implemented and maintained.
- Develop, implement, and enforce processes which ensure 100% delivery accuracy to the shop floor in terms of quantity, part number, batch number, packaging, labelling and documentation.
- Ensure that goods inwards receive material to (production and non-production), in a way that maintains accuracy and minimises delays in the process.
- Ensure with the QA Dept and the buyer, immediate return of rejected components.
- Ensure that all transactions are uploaded to the company computer system accurately and in a timely manner.
- Co-ordinate activities of both sections of the warehouse to ensure all commitments can be met, accounting for sickness, training, holidays etc.
- Ensure training is kept up to date on all forms of material handling equipment.
- Continually seek to improve procedures and work methods that reduce the cost of material handling and storage of material.
- Establish good housekeeping standards for raw material and goods inwards areas - communicate these standards and/or policies to stores personnel, perform regular audits, report results and co-ordinate corrective actions and improvement activities.
- Ensure good two-way communication at all times, via regular team briefings, as an instrument of team building and good labour relations.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement activities.
- Operate within Health and Safety Legislation, ensuring that site safety procedures are followed at all times and risk assessments are carried out.
- Ensure that all equipment used in the area is properly maintained and safe to use.
- Maintain effective teamwork and discipline, operating within procedures and Conditions of Employment as laid down by the company.
- Promote right first-time attitude
- Formulate and co-ordinate training and development plans for all personnel in area.
- Liaise with off-site external storage providers to ensure all ZB requirements are met
- Key point of contact for all U.K transport requirements, ensuring necessary paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
- Responsible for the management control of specific inventory requirements i.e. expiry date & temperature control.
- Ensure departmental Issue Evaluations & Corrective and Preventative actions are completed in a timely manner.
- Liaise with internal departments to facilitate Internal & External audits activities.

**Expected Areas of Competence**:

- Evidence of clear verbal and written communication.
- Ability to manage and develop individuals and teams.
- Ability to organise information and resources effectively, prioritising tasks according to their urgency and importance.
- Competent user of the Microsoft suite of programs and tools, SAP & Kronos
- Previous management experience of small to medium sized teams, with a record of team building will be advantageous.
- Experience of real world problem solving to correct issue impacting production performance will be essential.
- Experience of working with continuous improvement tools and techniques coupled with the above is important these to include 5S, CAPA, RCA, VoE and TPS.
