Warehouse Operative

Reporting to the Warehouse Operations Shift leader, this role will mainly support the wholesale packing team. As well as helping to process orders, as Foreman you will also be responsible for communicating and monitoring your colleagues’ targets to ensure orders are completed on time.

About the role:
As well as ensuring that daily order processing requirements are clearly defined and communicated, you will also:

- Lead by example and motivate colleagues to meet targets
- Work and communicate with other areas of the business - e.g., warehouse operations, forklift drivers, picking and packing.
- Maintain good levels of housekeeping in working areas.
- Work with Security, Facilities and Health and Safety teams to identify and report any concerns

About you:
Experience in a warehouse operations or packing role is preferred but not essential. To succeed in this role you will need:

- A passion for customer satisfaction
- Attention to detail and high standards of accuracy
- The ability to summarise problems and provide practical solutions and recommendations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Natural team-working ability and a motivational style
- The willingness and ability to work flexible hours if required during peak periods.

Please note: This role will entail use of pump-trucks, manual handling with weights up to 25kg, and long periods of standing. This role will require the successful applicant to use safety boots, bump caps, and other relevant PPE.

Hours of work are 37.5/week, working between 6.30am and 10.30pm on a shift basis, and covering one weekend day each month.

Established in 2013, to buy unwanted books, CD’s DVD’s, Blu-ray and console games directly from consumers via its market leading app. The smart technology enables consumers to use their mobile device to scan a product bar code or to simply tap in an ISBN code from a book for an instant valuation.

Ziffit sells all its books, CDs, DVDs and games via World of Books own website or partner websites such as Amazon and eBay.

World of Rare Books
Sells books published prior to 1970 (including rare, vintage and 1st edition titles) alongside vinyl and other ephemera through our own websites and other marketplaces. This business offers one of the largest selections of pre-ISBN books in the market and is the largest supplier of wholesale vintage books for decoration in Europe.

Our Technology
Our success is underpinned by our technology. We have developed bespoke software solutions to tackle changing market conditions and pricing. Our technology manages our warehouse, streams our stock and extends our reach to over 20 global marketplaces.
