We are one of the largest law schools in the UK, offering a range of undergraduate degrees, academic and practitioner taught postgraduate courses and a strong research degrees programme. The School has over 100 academic staff and in excess of 2,500 students of whom over 500 are students studying on postgraduate or practitioner courses. The post of **Principal Lecturer** offers a fantastic opportunity to support the Head of Department for the Postgraduate Programmes in this dynamic area of the Law School’s portfolio.

The postholder will have the opportunity to provide academic leadership, and course, strategic and operational management for the Legal Practice Courses and the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) Preparation Courses, at an exciting time in the development of postgraduate professional and academic legal education. Building on a strong reputation and record of achievement in the LLM suite of courses and professional postgraduate legal education, the post holder will also lead, undertake and support course development and design, research and commercial activity across the portfolio.

Recent experience of management, academic leadership and delivery of Postgraduate programmes, including the Legal Practice and/or SQE Preparation Courses, and detailed knowledge of the area of Professional Legal Education is essential.
