**Gamekeeper - Fring Estate, North Norfolk**

Fring Estate is a progressive rural estate running a 300-bird pheasant and partridge shoot, operating 16 days per year. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Gamekeeper to manage and deliver the shoot, maintain high welfare and sporting standards, and help expand wider sporting income opportunities such as deer stalking.

This is a key, hands-on estate role for someone passionate about game management, countryside stewardship, and delivering high-quality days for guests and guns.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Shoot & Game Management**
- Full husbandry of pheasant and partridge stock (wild & reared)
- Maintenance of pens, rides, release systems, and shoot infrastructure
- Lead delivery of shoot days: coordinating beaters, pickers-up, game cart, and records
- Manage post-shoot clearing, game dealer liaison, and compliance
- Vermin & predator control across the estate
- Maintain and improve drives, cover crops, and conservation measures

**Sporting Development**
- Support and lead estate deer management, including cull plans
- Maintain high seats and stalking infrastructure
- Present carcasses and keep accurate records
- Explore and build additional sporting income streams (e.g., stalking, simulated game, off-season sporting activity)

**Estate & Grounds Work**
- General estate work including fencing, ground maintenance, tree/ride upkeep
- Assist with woodland operations and contractor oversight
- Maintain safe and well-presented public access routes and parkland
- Assist wider estate operations and tourism where required

**Security & Stewardship**
- Vigilance against trespass, poaching, wildlife crime and fly-tipping
- Act as key holder and respond to alarms/emergencies

**What We’re Looking For**
- Proven experience as a gamekeeper or senior underkeeper
- Strong knowledge of pheasant and partridge husbandry and shoot delivery
- Competent in deer management and qualified (DSC1 or willing to work towards)
- Skilled in lawful vermin control and all associated legislation
- Practical, proactive, and able to work autonomously
- High standards of presentation, record-keeping, and professionalism
- Full driving licence, firearms/shotgun certificates (or eligibility to obtain)

You’ll be someone who takes pride in producing high-quality shoot days, maintains excellent standards across the estate, and contributes to the long-term sporting vision at Fring. You will be comfortable working flexibly during busy periods, enjoy varied outdoor work, and be able to represent the estate to guests, guns, and partners.

Pay: From £25,000.00 per year
