We Are With You's Bournemouth SPOC (Single Point of Contact) Service provides free and confidential support to people who need support with alcohol and substance use. This role will focus on working with those aged 50 plus.
You will have your own caseload, working both one your own and as part of our team alongside other social care services as well as assertively out reaching hard to engage clients. You will develop recovery plans with your clients to help them get their lives back to where they want them to be. We are determined and always professional in our approach to each and every case and we never judge, we're just here to help. There will be assessments to carry out and records you need to keep and update, that's all part of our professional commitment and service to our clients and commissioners.
We are a dynamic, supportive and caring service for people in the BCP area. We provide a wide range of services aimed at reducing harm and building recovery with a focus upon empowering people to be the best that they can be.
**REQUIRED SKILLS**:
- Demonstrable experience of working in the health, social care, criminal justice or other specialist setting
- A driving license and access to a vehicle
- NVQ in Health and Social care or willingness to work towards this
- Successful track record of working with substance misuse service users
- Ability to build effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively as a team player
- Resilient, with the ability to prioritise and work under pressure
- Good written and oral communication skills
- IT skills
- Organised and excellent time management skills
- Knowledge and understanding of: Group working; Assessment, care planning and
key working; Issues affecting substance misusers; Rehabilitation; Solution focused brief therapy and/or motivational interviewing
