The individual will need to be flexible, able to work independently and will be responsible for managing their own desk, liaising and assisting with clients and external accountants that we work with. You may be required to work from or visit our clients sites. Mileage will be paid for this.
**Job Type**
Part-time, Permanent (20-25 hours over 4 days or 5 days)
**Main Duties**
- Bank Reconciliations
- Recording receipts
- Verifying and recording invoices
- Reconciliation of supplier statements
- Ensure purchase and sales ledgers are accurate and up-to date
- Prepare monthly/quarterly management accounts
- Credit Control support to the credit control team
- Prepare and submit VAT returns.
- Knowledge of Payroll functions
- In house administration support
- Deal with ad hoc tasks and clerical duties that arise
**Skills and Attributes**
- Great knowledge of Xero, Quickbooks, Sage and Brightpay software
- Use of Excel is essential
- Strong communication skills.
- Hardworking and proactive approach
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- A good telephone manner
- Ability to creatively and efficiently prioritize and execute multiple tasks to meet deadlines
- Must have excellent organisational skills
- Be punctual and able to work on their own as well as with other employees
**Experience**:
- 2 years’ experience
- The ideal bookkeeper will have had previous experience in a similar role in either an accountants firm or limited company.
**Education**
- A-level Mathematics (required)
- Hold/or studying a relevant finance qualification (Min AAT Level 3)
