**Job Description - Children’s Care Support Worker (CSW)**

**Main Purpose of Job**

Spectrum residential children services are expanding and now is an exciting time to get involved and join a service that has been recognised by the National Children’s & Young Peoples Award for providing outstanding care to our young people We currently have vacancies for children’s support workers for our autism specialist home situated in Truro, Cornwall. Our children’s home provides a safe, stable, nurturing home, whilst providing outstanding care for the needs of children and young people with autism and associated conditions.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an experienced and motivated team of support workers and to make a positive impact on the lives of our young people. You will be responsible for the daily well-being of our young people, providing a caring and nurturing environment. The role also includes arranging and participating in activities and social events to promote positive social development and independence.

It is desirable for applicants to have a background of working with children/young people with learning difficulties and the challenging behaviours that are often associated with autism, although previous experience is not always essential as full training will be provided.

As well as a comprehensive training programme, staff will also be enrolled on a fully funded Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare with the opportunity to progress to a Level 5 diploma.

We ensure children and young people with autism have the necessary skills, confidence, and support to access opportunities to lead happy adult lives living as independently as possible. To achieve good health and emotional wellbeing and to create an atmosphere within which they can feel safe to express themselves.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Schedule:

- Day shifts £10.00 per hour
- Evening shifts £10.00 per hour
- Waking nights £10.66 per hour
- Sleep-ins £78.30 per shift
- Enhanced weekend rates
