The Company’s award-winning light rail tram operation is an integral part of the future success of Blackpool and the Fylde coast. It provides an excellent transport service along the famous sea front which will connect to Blackpool North Railway Station via the new tramway extension.
Blackpool Transport has an exciting opportunity for a new Night Shunter/ Cleaner to join the engineering team at Starr Gate Depot.
The main duties will be shunting trams inside the tram depot and on the head shunt. You will be expected to ensure that the external and internal cleaning of vehicles is completed to an exceptional standard and any other associated duties.
The successful applicant will work a 37.5 hrs over 5 weeks, 4 weeks are 4 shifts per week and 1 week is 5 shifts per week. This will be covering the hours 8pm to 6am. The rate of pay will be £11.09 per hour.
A full UK driving licence is required for this role. Applicants must have the relevant right to work in the UK documentation.
**Responsibilities**:
**_ Main Responsibilities_**
Complete cleaning and associated work to the required standards/targets, ensuring the optimum appearance of both vehicles and premises.
Vehicle cleaning to include all interior/exterior cleaning of the vehicle as required.
Shunt trams inside depot and on the head shunt and drive through tram wash.
Record details of all work done as required.
Maximise efficiency by ensuring the correct use and the safe and secure storage of all materials and equipment.
Work in a clean and tidy manner ensuring that equipment is in a clean and fit state at the end of each shift/duty and stored correctly.
Report defective or inoperative equipment immediately to the team leader or foreperson.
Ensure that any graffiti which cannot be removed by the appropriate initial effort is reported on a daily basis to the foreperson.
Report any damaged seat frames, damaged or missing seat cushions and any exterior damage to the foreperson.
Carry out such tasks as may reasonably be required by the foreperson or Engineering Manager.
