**BBC Radio Solent **has an exciting opportunity to lead our Dorset team, and further develop our relationships with the richly diverse communities of the county. Serving a TSA of almost two million people across Hampshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight, BBC Radio Solent reflects the lives of the South’s residents in everything we do. Our Dorset Senior Content Producer leads and inspires our Dorset team to produce audio content for all broadcast platforms, including our Dorset Breakfast show - ensuring we achieve the highest levels of creativity and editorial standards.

You will produce and output out Dorset breakfast show opt, ensuring the county’s residents wake up to hear the stories that matter to them. You’ll bring in ideas and stories as well as supporting programme teams in producing their content. You will also maximise the value of all stories, ensuring they are published and shared on all relevant platforms. You will bring the team together and create an environment where the talents of the contributors and crew can flourish.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Our Senior Content Producer in Dorset has overall responsibility for our Dorset team and its audio content output.
- You will be the lead producer of our Dorset breakfast show and make sure we set the agenda for the day; entertaining those who choose us as the soundtrack to their morning.
- You’ll lead the team to develop creative ways of telling complex stories which make sense to our opportunity audience, and have editorial oversight of the show.
- You will look for opportunities for telling your stories across multiple-platforms, coordinating coverage with the news team and social content producers. You’ll also push our audio aftercare, making the most of the audio content you’ve generated for the programme. You will lead, motivate and support the team in line with the BBC’s values, ensuring that the editorial vision is communicated and understood from planning through to delivery.
- You will ensure our content reflects our diverse audiences and keep up to date with emerging industry trends.
- You will be core to establishing and harnessing motivation in the team, generating positive working relationships with your team and across station and the wider BBC. You will regularly provide constructive feedback.
- You will be liaising with presenters and supporting them as required.
- Editorially, you will focus on quality over quantity of stories, and ensure that the structure and make-up of the programme addresses audience habits.
- You will ensure implementation of the BBC Local’s strategy and the BBC’s editorial policy, and you’ll seek improvements in content production to increase efficiency of working practices.
- They will have worked with multiple stakeholders including presenters.

Sound editorial judgement and a thorough knowledge of the BBC’s editorial and legal guidelines. You’ll think big, understand the importance of a breakfast show in driving key all-England content and leading the station’s coverage of flagship editorial brands like the Make A Difference Awards. You’ll have an understanding of and be able to develop ideas of how to work best in partnership with reporters in the Local Story Team and the South’s Story Hub.
