Swarthmore Care Home is set in beautiful, landscaped gardens in the desirable village of Gerrards Cross, where there are many opportunities for residents to enjoy a variety of cultural and leisure pursuits.

The care home provides respite, convalescent and palliative care to residents aged from 65, and to those living with a physical disability or sensory impairment.

We are an independent 40 bedded Care Home, established for over 70 years, and we pride ourselves on providing a safe and homely environment where the unique needs of each individual are recognised.

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance and Facilities Coordinator with excellent communications skills, who is highly organised and self-motivated. You will need to hit the ground running, being confident, capable, and highly skilled within maintenance & facilities, demonstrating a good level of computer literacy and the ability to learn job specific software packages.

You will need to have strong customer service skills and the ability to establish and nurture good relationships with residents, contractors, and colleagues at all levels. The role requires the ability to prioritise, plan and manage your own workload, coordinating with contractors to suit the needs of the home, our residents, and our care team in order to ensure the smooth running of the home’s facilities.

This role is responsible for maintaining and resolving any maintenance/facilities concerns promptly and has one direct report. You will have a working knowledge of building systems and related regulatory requirements & compliance, which will include, but are not exclusive to - plumbing, heating, electrical, resident emergency systems and equipment servicing/repairs. You will have experience of fire safety systems, and health & safety. You will also support in ensuring rooms are prepared for new residents including decorating and assisting with move-ins and move-outs.
