I am working with a fast growing organisation in Bristol who are looking to add another Site reliability engineer (database) to the team. You will support the use of data in the business, and support the underlying systems to provide a highly available andreliable data architecture, you will take care of the reliability of the data infrastructure - which includes data pipelines, databases, deployments, CI/CD, HA, access & privileges (in some cases), data warehouses and data lakes, storage
- High Availability & High Scalability for Database - including Data Warehouses & Data Lakes
- Expertise in Database Internals for Performance Tuning, Optimization and recommendations on best practices
- Development of Schemas, ETL Pipelines, Data Models and Algorithms to support Business Processes and Analytics
- Infrastructure Reliability for Data Pipelines, Big Data Processing Systems, Distributed Systems, Storage & Archival.
- Data Integrations with Microservice Architectures, and Continuous Data Transformation Processes
- Security & Compliance across the Data Infrastructure including all the areas mentioned above and more

Skills & Experience:

- A proven background of Database Administration, or Data Architecture, or Data Engineering. Experience with modelling data, writing & optimizing queries, analysing logs & access patterns, security & compliance, managing replication topologies, disk space,alerts, monitoring, billing and so on.
- Experience with multiple Database types, including noSQL patterns such as graphdb, document store, time series database, spatial indexes, AMQP.
- Familiarity with several of the following databases: Neo4j, MongoDb, InfluxDb, Postgres (PostGIS), MySQL, Elastic Search, Prometheus Db. Proficient in the use of database query languages such as Cypher, SQL.
- Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems desirable, and data query patterns algorithms such as Map-Reduce, R-Trees.
- Experience of Cloud deployments infrastructure, such as Linux, Docker, Jenkins, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery, and Automation Configuration Management tools such as Ansible.
- Test Driven Development Practices, and Agile/DevOps/Site Reliability Engineering experience favoured.
