This is an exciting opportunity to join Stockport Infant Parent Service (IPS), an expanding Parent Infant Mental Health (PIMH) service based in the heart of Stockport. As a highly specialist child and adolescent psychoanalytic psychotherapist you will be integral to the development of the service, alongside an experienced and passionate team. You will be based at Stopford House together with core CAMHS as we work towards the NHS long term plan ambitions of a comprehensive service from 0-19. You will receive line management supervision from the clinical lead for IPS. You will have the chance to further develop your skills in PIMH assessment, formulation and specialist intervention through a variety of training opportunities. You will provide an individualised, psychoanalytically informed service to families in Stockport from conception to age 2, as well as supporting the workforce through training, consultation and supervision. The post holder will be based in the PIMH service in which is an expanding service located in Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, CAMH Service. The PIMH is an under 2s service and has been commissioned to provide a clinical service and also provide strategic lead, development and investment in the perinatal period up until the child’s 2nd birthday. The service will have extensive links with Health Visiting, Maternity Services, Neonatal services, Children’s Centres, Adult Mental Health, Voluntary sector and Children’s Social Care, etc. The post holder will provide a clinical service, training, consultation, and supervision across the large multi-agency network of mixed professionals. The post holder will work as a highly specialist practitioner developing and implementing a community based therapeutic service to parents to be, infants, children and their families with a particular focus on under 2’s, early intervention, the prevention of high risk and vulnerable families (e.g. socially excluded families). They will provide assessment and treatment of parents/carers and infants and their families grounded in the principles and techniques of psychoanalytic psychotherapy. The training and strategic development aspect of the role involves acting as a specialist resource, and contributing to multi-agency training of relevant professionals across the borough of Stockport. The post holder will be expected to offer consultation and clinical supervision to professional colleagues. You will be joining IPS and the wider CAMHS in our new purpose built building as we come together to realise the NHS Long Term Plan for a comprehensive CAMHS from birth to 19. 1. Delivery of Under 2s psychoanalytic psychotherapy service provision within the parameters of child and adolescent mental health, in a multiagency context. 2. To provide specialist psychoanalytic psychotherapy assessment for Under 2s who may be experiencing severe, highly complex and persistent mental health difficulties and to make decisions about treatment options taking into account relevant evidence based research, theory, practice and highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes. 3. To formulate and implement plans for therapeutic intervention and management from the point of referral, grounded in the principle and techniques of psychoanalytic psychotherapy. 4. To develop specialist provision for the parents of infants and young children using models of practice employed within other Under 2s services. 5. To provide specialist expertise in psychoanalytic principles and techniques through advice and consultation to other members of the PIMH service and colleagues within the network. 6. Post-holder will be expected to hold and work their own caseload within the context of the PIMH service. 7. To be part of the PIMH ‘Duty" rota providing appropriate information, advice, support, consultation to a range of professionals, and families. 8. To actively participate in PIMH weekly presentation, referral, CPD and business meetings. 9. To attend and contribute as an independent clinician to multidisciplinary and multi-agency meetings as appropriate. 10. To ensure appropriate liaison with professionals from external agencies. 11.
