Officer Quality Patient Safety
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Officer Quality Patient Safety to join the Nursing and Quality team at NHS Devon Integrated Care Board. The role will provide administrative services, including helping to maintain a robust system for monitoring and communicating safety alerts and incidents, and updating data to electronic reporting systems such as CAS, STEIS, LfPSE and DATIX.
There will be exciting opportunities to develop the job role following the introduction of the Patient Safety Incident Reporting Framework and the Learning from Patient Safety Events service. This will see increased collaboration and closer working with provider organisations to ensure the development of a shared learning culture across Devon.
The role will support the team with data entry, analysis and presentation, and support projects the team undertakes to improve the service provided. The post holder will liaise closely with internal and external colleagues to ensure processes are efficient and identify where improvements can be made.
The post holder will support the Senior Specialist Safety Systems and the wider team to ensure that their workstream is planned, managed, and delivered effectively.
NHS Devon Integrated Care System
As an Integrated Care System (ICS), we recognise now more than ever that we can only provide the care that people really need by working together. Together for Devon therefore represents a partnership where health and care services work together with local communities to improve peoples health, wellbeing and care. It aims to transform health and care services so they are clinically, socially and financially sustainable.
**Our vision is simple**: equal chances for everyone in Devon to lead long, happy and healthy lives. To achieve this, we have set out six ambitions for the next five years that will help us transform services including: Effective and efficient care, embedding the Integrated Care Model, the Devon deal (a citizen-led approach to health and care), Children and young people, Digital Devon and ensuring Equality.
About NHS Devon
As part of the Devon ICS, NHS Devon Integrated Care Board is responsible for the majority of county's NHS budget, and develops a plan to improve peoples health, deliver high-quality care and better value for money. The organisation is led by a diverse board, with an aim to improve peoples lives in Devon wherever they live, to reduce health inequalities and make sure we can deliver these services for the long term.
The post holder will be a key member of the team, whose overarching goal is to enable, promote and support the use of information, knowledge, and technology to support a range of projects and initiatives. The role will provide high quality support for a range of functions including projects and data analysis. The post holder will undertake reporting and analysis of information to support delivery, and to inform the ICB of themes, priorities, and areas of focus.
The post holder will support the use of Datix within the Quality function, ensuring staff are fully trained and supported in use of the product including system maintenance, accuracy of data input and design and production of reports to enable the system to be utilised to its fullest potential.
As part of this role, there will be a requirement to work in a matrix and flexible way across multiple areas/teams to support business needs. The objectives of the role will be regularly reviewed to align to organisational priorities.
Please see the attached Job description and person specification for full details of the role and responsibilities.
