Security Guard

Job Introduction
We currently have opportunities for **a Security Guard** to join our team in Thetford

The rate of pay is**: £12.30 per hour + 10% Night Allowance between 10pm and 6am**

This is a **4on 4off **Rota working 05.30 - 17.30**

As Security Guard, you will be responsible for the Security of the site through both manual observation and the use of onsite CCTV. You will act as the first point of contact for all Visitors, ensuring records are maintained daily as well as assisting with any incidents that occur on site.

Main Responsibilities
- Complete an accurate, detailed information regarding booking in deliveries and collections
- Use common sense and initiatives to make decisions to meet the business needs
- Meeting and greeting customers in a professional and friendly manner
- Responsible for operating and monitoring CCTV.
- Support the site with CCTV related queries/issues
- Ensuring there is consistent Security presence on site
- Performing scheduled and random checks of designated areas (Lockers, Pocket searches etc.) to check for any security breaches or violation of company policy.
- Conducting regular perimeter patrols
- Conducting effective and informative shift handovers.
- First point of contact for all site visitors as well as ensuring all visitors complete the sign in process this includes managing the site 2SFG Health & Safety presentation.
- Timely and appropriate escalation of relevant issues to Senior Management
- Assisting with issues that may arise on site (i.e. escorting staff offsite).
- Managing the Issue of temporary cards and updating the log effectively
- Responsible for the control of car parking on site and issuing permits
- To ensure check calls are being carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI's).
- To support the incident controller during emergency evacuations liaising with emergency services
- To be able to de-escalate situations in a calmly manner
- Always remain vigilant. Report incidents to supervisors and management when required via radio/telephone.
- Carryout First Aid when required - Training will be provided if required
- Conduct duties outside of normal day to day responsibilities
- Maintaining confidentiality with sensitive issues and information
- Smart Appearance and in company uniform at all times
- Ensure that the security facility and staff are audit ready at all times
- Previous experience in a similar Security role preferred but not essential
- Previous gatehouse experience including booking vehicles in and out to meet the business needs
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Have a good understanding of safety and security procedures
- Banksman trained preferred but not essential as training will be provided
- Work in a systematic, methodical, and orderly way.
- First aid trained preferred but not essential as training will be provided
