Cardiff, United Kingdom Department of International Trade Full time

_Do you know how to keep networks safe?_
- Do you understand how to keep organisations’ data secure?_
- Do you have specialist cyber security expertise that you can use to help other nations protect their citizens?_

We are looking to recruit a Principal Cyber Security Exports Advisor who is comfortable acting independently as well as part of a team. You will make use of your expertise and background to promote Government support for the UK cyber security industry and to promote the UK’s cyber security exports offer globally.

The Department for International Trade (DIT) is here to create a UK that trades its way to prosperity, stability and security. We achieve this by helping businesses to export; driving inward and outward investment; negotiating market access and trade deals as well as championing free trade.

Within DIT, UK Defence & Security Exports (UK DSE) supports UK companies in the defence, physical security and cyber security sectors to export, invest and win. We use DIT’s network of over 5,000 trade staff based in 120 countries to promote innovation, opportunity and partnership around the world.

Our deep knowledge of UK capability enables us to match international partners’ requirements with world-leading solutions. By maintaining strong relationships both domestically and globally, our sectors’ export success is helping to drive prosperity, stability and security for all.

The Security & Cyber Exports Team provides advice to UK companies, most of whom are small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), covering areas such as cyber security; law enforcement; fire and rescue; critical national infrastructure (CNI) protection and resilience. This role will focus specifically on cyber security in support of objectives within the National Cyber Security strategy and will work collaboratively with industry bodies and across Government departments to understand the UK’s cyber ecosystem and to encourage UK companies to expand and grow overseas.
