As part of this commitment, our Housing Taskforce has been set up to actively promote and look for opportunities to provide additional affordable social housing to help us meet the demand for housing in East Devon.

This interesting and varied role will support and enable development partners to find solutions to funding and help by exploring and progressing opportunities to build and acquire new affordable social homes.

You will be identifying and recommending potential development opportunities within the local authority across East Devon and working closely with and influence registered providers, developers and landowners as well as organisations such as town, parish councils, Homes England and any other housing provider to ensure that affordable housing is provided where it is needed.

You will also be working with our internal colleagues in planning and development management to support and progress the planning process on Council owned land.

**About you**
Key skills in this role will be your ability to build excellent working relationships with a network of colleagues and interested parties across the region. The ability to be organised and enjoy spinning lots of plates A knowledge the locality in East Devon and the geographical communities that we work in is also useful. An understanding of planning laws, in particular Section 106 would also be useful.
