**SOAS Lay member of the Board of Trustees**

We are seeking expressions of interest from high-calibre individuals who would like to join the Board of Trustees at SOAS in a voluntary capacity. As a Trustee the commitment and energy you display will make a noticeable difference to SOAS and help take forward our ambitious vision and strategy. Your enthusiasm and commitment to the sector will make a direct impact to the work of the School. You will have the opportunity to engage with the executive on the School’s ambitious plans.

Applications are sought from individuals who have recent or current senior-level experience in the following areas:

- International Development
- Law/Charity Law
- Regulatory Compliance
- Inclusion and Diversity
- Fundraising and Networks, both national and global

The School needs to use its distinctiveness and reputation to stand out in a sector that is becoming increasingly competitive. This is an exciting time for us as we continue to forge our identity following our recent year of centenary celebration, as we continue to look at ways in which we can retain and enhance our global reputation. You will have the skills to make this happen and the opportunity to make a contribution to determining the strategic direction of this leading centre for the study of Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
