**Job overview**:
The post holder will be an expert resource regarding corporate governance and will be responsible for procedures related to the Care Organisation assurance structures. This includes oversight of the assurance committee function, annual plan management and production of assurance documentation. The post holder will work directly with directors to ensure that high standards of corporate governance are maintained.

**Main duties of the job**:
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the Care Organisation complies with all relevant legislation and for deploying and delivering best corporate governance practice as part of an overarching Integrated Governance Strategy.

The post holder will oversee procedures for the sound administration and corporate governance of the Care Organisation, ensuring all aspects are undertaken to the highest standards of probity and according to statutory and legislative requirements and in accordance with the applicable regulatory framework. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the -meetings of the Care Organisation and its assurance committees are managed efficiently and effectively.

The post holder will co-ordinate, on behalf of the Associate Director of Governance, the arrangements to ensure that the Care Organisation's assurance framework is updated by lead Directors and managers, reflects principal risks to delivery of Care Organisation objectives and that assurances, controls and actions are accurately recorded.

The post holder will manage the system for the annual planning process, ensuring that updates on progress made against organisational objectives are monitored, updated and tracked through the relevant Care Organisation assurance committees. The post holder will also play a key role in assurance provided to Group via the Statement of Assurance on a monthly basis.

**Knowledge, Skills, Trainig & Experieince**:

- Experience of interpreting highly complex facts and situations, with the ability to present and compare a range of options
- Experience in servicing assurance committees within a large organisation
- Experience of assurance framework management
- Experience of writing assurance reports for Director level committees
- Highly developed professional knowledge and experience across a range of disciplines, including NHS corporate governance, risk management and regulatory functions, gained through training and experience.
- Experience of planning and organising a broad range of complex activities, which require formulation, adjustment to meet changing needs

**Desirable criteria**:

- Experience of integrated governance systems
