Joiner - Hawick

Responsibilities:

- Assemble and fabricate wooden and metal structures according to specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and drawings to determine materials required and dimensions of structure
- Measure, cut, shape, and fit materials using hand tools, power tools, and machinery
- Install windows, doors, cabinets, and other fixtures
- Repair or replace damaged framework or other structures
- Inspect workpieces for defects and ensure quality standards are met
- Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects on time

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience as a joiner or carpenter
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and machinery
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong knowledge of different types of wood and their characteristics
- Familiarity with construction materials, regulations, and safety standards
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and working in various weather conditions

- Hawick, Scottish Borders: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Joinery: 5 years (required)
- Carpentry: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- CSCS (required)
- Driving Licence (required)
