A fantastic opportunity to join a leading humanitarian organisation to embed data and insight as a key component of the evidence-based approach to UK Crisis and Emergency Response (CER) service design and delivery.
We are looking for a Data and Insight Manager to coordinate efforts to ensure the service is using data and insight effectively in operational planning and response, and designing and improving services across the CER portfolio.
**What you will be doing**
Lead data capture and analysis processes during an emergency to inform operational response.
As part of a multidisciplinary product team, lead on data collection and analysis to measure the effectiveness of services and products against outcomes for CER.
Use internal and external data sets to identify opportunities and risks for CER.
Deploy to support major emergencies and crises in the UK with rapid data analysis

You will have worked with data and insight in a humanitarian or social policy context.
You will be skilled at using data techniques to explore problems and improve services and planning for operational teams.
You will have experience working across the full data pipeline.
You will be up for the challenge of working in a fast paced, operations focused team with the opportunity to deploy to the field
**What you get in return**
You can see a full list of benefits that we offer below, including flexible working and family and carer friendly policies. Agile product management is still relatively new to the organisation so we want to make sure we’re really supporting our practitioners. To do this there are generous training and development opportunities and you will be truly supported in getting access to and making time for training and development. There will also be opportunities to volunteer within our services, particularly those you’ll be directly working with.
**Meet the team**
Over the past two years, British Red Cross has supported over 4 million people affected by emergencies in the UK, including over 1.5 million people face to face. The CER Product team is a new multidisciplinary team working across the disasters and emergencies portfolio area in the UK. Our team is small but what we can accomplish is significant. We’re united by a shared passion for user-centred design, data driven decision making, making things better for our volunteers and staff, and ultimately delivering valuable services and products to people in crisis across the UK.
The team collectively work on the Crisis and Emergency Response product portfolio which will comprise face to face and online services as well as the tools, plans and processes our frontline teams need to deliver them.
Whilst this is a new team, they will build on earlier design work in the emergencies space which you can read more about here:
Understanding people’s unmet needs to prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies like fires and floods
Why we’re focusing on knowing more about people impacted by emergencies
Making people more visible in emergencies
