We have a great opportunity to join our Data & Analytics team as a **Data Quality technician**on a **Fixed term / secondment basis for 12 months**. Based from Basingstoke, you'll combine office and home working to ensure a positive work / life balance.

**The Role**

You'll work collaboratively across IT and the wider business to make sure Sovereign's business data is consistent, accurate and kept up to date, adhering to data standards. You'll create and run reports for business areas, exploring any data queries andensuring the quality of the data is maintained.

Responsibilities include:

- Supporting the Data management function in the delivery of data policies and procedures, and data quality reporting
- Analysis of key datasets and processes, working with the wider Data and Analytics team to identify issues with data quality, and support implementation of appropriate solutions
- Supporting development of Data Quality Reports across each of Sovereign's data domains, providing support to our Data Stewards and other key business SMEs
- Assisting analysis of source data systems utilising tools such as Power BI to ensure high quality data is available for reporting and analytics
- Supporting the creation and maintenance of documentation to help manage Sovereign's approach to data management and data quality

**What we're looking for**

You should have previous experience in a similar role within data quality and reporting.

You'll also need:

- Knowledge of reporting & analysis software tools including Microsoft Power BI and SQL management studio
- An understanding of fundamental data quality practises, including Missing, Outliers, contamination, inconsistency, invalid, duplicate, data types and structural errors
- Experience of data management including GDPR regulations
- Strong MS Excel skills
- Basic understanding of database design, table joins, views and functions, star schema models and their use in Power BI
- Good communication skills with an ability to convey complex technology concepts to the business and IT stakeholders
- Ability to design and maintain self-service analysis dashboards
