Retail Supervisor

**Retail Supervisor - SPAR (recently undergone extensive refurbishment). We are looking for additional staff to help us in the new store. Would you like to join us?**

**Grade D1 £21,777 per annum.**

**Full-time 37 hours per week over 52 weeks working over 7 days.**

**A little bit about us**:Hull University Students Union is a Charity, with a large trading subsidiary which included SPAR and J.D.Wetherspoon; our primary purposes are:

- Advancement of education, promoting the interests and welfare of students during study and representing, supporting and advising students.
- Being the recognised representative channel between students and the University of Hull and other representative bodies.
- Providing social, cultural sporting, recreational activities, and forums for discussions and debate for the personal development of its students.

Our Trading Subsidiary provides a range of services for students including, a Supermarket, a pub, a nightclub, coffee and food outlets.

**General duties and responsibilities**
- To deliver exceptional customer service at all times and as they arise to deal with customer complaints in an efficient manner..
- To ensure that all store merchandising standards and cleanliness are of the highest standard and that the store is suitable replenished prior to the end of your working shift.
- To complete Due Diligence checks and records as per the store policies and procedures.
- To complete all opening and closing checklists and these checks are documented as per the store policies and procedures.
- To ensure that all operator and management functions of the EPOS till system are completed as per the store standards and to report any till discrepancies, large void or refund transactions to the Commercial Operations Manager or their deputy.
- To ensure that all cash handling procedures are completed as per the store procedures and to report any cash discrepancies to the Commercial Operations Manager or their deputy.
- To keep up to date with current promotions and new products ensuring that at every opportunity you are promoting these to our customers.
- To work with our Retail team members ensuring that they have the correct level of supervision, direction, information and support to complete all the jobs required by them throughout their shift.
- To ensure that the security of the Retail shop is not compromised and that all lock down procedures are completed as per the store policies and procedures and that any concerns are raised to the Duty Manager prior to leaving the Store.
- To ensure that the reduction and wastage store procedures are completed as per the store policy and that you follow the requirements to minimise wastage where necessary.
- To complete Retail orders for the replenishment of stock when required.
- To work within the shop and stock room areas in accepting deliveries of fresh, frozen and amibient products and carrying out stock shop floor replenishments ensuring stock rotation is carried out.
- To ensure that all deliveries and returns are checked and that any discrepancies are reported without delay to the Commercial Operations Manager or their deputy.
- To follow good stock management processes ensuring that stock is rotated and organised in the bakery and back of house areas.
- To carry out stocktakes as and when required.
- To act as designated Duty Manager as times when only the Retail SPAR shop is open and be responsible for the opening up and closing down of Student Central.
- To contribute as a team player to the successful running of the store.
- Maintain a positive atmosphere amongst all staff and customers.
- Ensure confidentiality at all times in the handling anddissemination of information and data, and embedding and implementing GDPRacross the workload.
- Carry out all duties in line with SPARs and HUSUspolicies and in line with the organisations values and strategic aims.
- To ensure that you are operating to all statutory laws relating to Health & Safety, Food Hygiene and age related products are followed at all times.
- To attend compulsory training days and complete all on line training programmes as required.
- Carry out any other reasonable instruction asked by the Retail Management team.
- Adhere to all company standards of uniform, policies and procedures.
