**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Continuous daily liaison with the Port of Middlesbrough operations teams, agencies, and customers so that all parties are aware of vessel movements and cargo operations.
- Supporting customers with planning transport bookings and co-ordination for goods received and distributed from the Port of Middlesbrough.
- Undertake the responsibility of capturing information, data input and the management of internal systems so accurate analysis reports are readily available.
- Organising and making appropriate arrangements to ensure high service levels are delivered to all customers and constantly looking for ways to improve this service.
- Controlling of Destin8 system making sure customs clearances are in place for cargos moving in/out of the Port facility and handled on/off vessels are in line with permissions.
- Support the Commercial department with collating costs and generating quotes for customers that are accurate and promptly delivered. Support customer account management activities, including scheduling and hosting contract review meetings in a professional and timely manner.
- Monitoring port communications out of hours ensuring vessel related activities run smoothly and maintain a high service level.
- Assisting business development and contributing to deliver a high level of customer service by being a positive and proactive point of contact, dealing with and resolving issues, concerns, problems, and complaints in an efficient and effective way.
- Expected to support and represent the business at conferences, exhibitions, meetings, and other forums, including attending any appropriate events.
- Providing additional support as required to the Commercial and Shipping department.

**Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills / Knowledge**:

- Previous experience in port/shipping and/or multimodal logistics.
- Proficient in MS Office packages.
- A strong understanding of the Shipping industry and Port facility activities.
- Highly organized, able to multitask and excellent customer services skills.
- Has the ability to work flexibly and without supervision; to plan and prioritise own work.
- Good communication and relationship building skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
