Deputy Head Housekeeper, Old Parsonage Hotel

We are looking for a Deputy Head Housekeeper to join our team at the luxurious five-star plus Old Parsonage Hotel, which is part of ‘The Oxford Collection’; a small independently owned group of luxury hotels and restaurants in central Oxford, comprising Gees Restaurant & Bar, the Old Parsonage Hotel, Parsonage Grill, the Old Bank Hotel, and Quod Restaurant & Bar.
Our Housekeeping teams are key in providing the highest level of cleanliness for our hotel guests. You will be keen and hardworking with an interest in hospitality.
**Key requirements and responsibilities of the Deputy Head Housekeeper**:
- Reporting to the Head Housekeeper and acting as Head Housekeeper when absent; attending manager meetings, rotas, wage forecasts, and ordering
- To be prepared to undertake any reasonable duties instructed by the Head Housekeeper or Director of Operations
- To maintain the highest standard of housekeeping in the hotel and its public areas, Parsonage Grill and Gees Restaurant & Bar
- Communicate effectively with reception staff to ensure the smooth and fast turnaround of rooms for re-sale in order to maximise revenue
- Reporting and organising all maintenance and repairs required in all hotel rooms and bathrooms and communal areas
- Responsible for upholding the Company’s image and standards, acting as an ambassador for the Company at all times
- To deal effectively and tactfully with all guest feedback and report to the Head Housekeeper
- Carry out training of new and existing staff ensuring initial and continuing competence in required areas, recording training records are maintained
- To ensure all cleaning equipment, materials, and chemicals are in good working order, stored safely, and used correctly
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current Health & Safety and Hygiene legislation
- Thoroughly understand fire, first aid, and accident procedures, including documentation where relevant
- To observe the hotel’s fire plan and Health & Safety policy
- Previous experience as a Deputy Head Housekeeper or Housekeeping Supervisor would be beneficial
We offer a sensible shift pattern across a 40-hour working week (Monday to Sunday rota with two days off) with a salary of £26,000 per annum plus non-contractual service charge (tronc).
