**The Role in Brief.**

We are looking for a very experienced Senior Data Engineer or Data Engineer ready for the next step to join a UK based consultancy. They are looking for someone with experience building and automating data pipelines in Google cloud platform. You will beworking as a part of a team of five, developing open data projects with elements of data science and AI on projects for end clients both large and small. Alongside this as the Senior Engineer in the team you will work closely with the Head of AI taking onthe responsibilities of mentoring Junior staff working on their continuous development.

**The Role in detail.**

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will work with both clients and specialist teams to consult and deliver mission-critical, deep technical solutions across their enterprise. You will adopt and shape their engineering practices, writing clean, testable code,and engage with agile practices to deliver business value through technology. This role is focused on delivering Open data projects using data Science practices and AI in **Google Cloud Platform** So a strong knowledge of this platform is a must

You will help ? shape and create the development practices that you want to work with. working alongside people who share a love for technology, for an organisation that values technical quality at every layer, and one that will take an active role in trainingand improving your skill set. You will work closely with the team at all levels ensuring the project work is at its very best, being a font of knowledge in Google cloud platform and other data engineering tools. You will pass on this knowledge to junior stafftaking a hand in their development.

This role can be based anywhere in the UK. That may be at home, from one of their office hubs or a mix of both. Some travel to client sites may also be expected for this role. This would be for ceremonies such as kick-off meetings, rather than on a regularbasis.

**Responsibilities.**
- Enable data scientists, insights teams and other data stakeholders to work with data in a safe, repeatable, data centred environment
- Work closely with the Data scientists in order to understand their needs. In collaboration with the data scientist develop robust processes for managing and automating regular outputs, with reliable and accurate data.
- Lead on infrastructure and software quality, drive the data infrastructure vision, help find the balance between quality and delivery
- Set up and enforce CI/CD pipelines and testing practices
- Champion agile principles and practices
- Contribute to the leadership of our own Data and AI expertise, culture, and delivery capabilities
- Be a key, senior in our high-performing internal data capability
- Consult on latest data infrastructure good practice and quality standards
- Contribute to the technical role on the delivery of new architecture solutions and products
- As a coach and mentor, encourage and support data engineers to grow and achieve high-quality engineering standards and make a positive difference to the team and culture
- As a polyglot engineer, work on enterprise scale, custom, multi-tier services using multiple languages such as Python, SQL and other data related technologies in **Google cloud platform.**
