Design Room Manager

We have an exciting opportunity available for a **Design Room Manager - Flowers designer**to join our team based at the **Newport, East Ridingsite**. You will join us on a **full-time, permanent** basis and in return, you will receive a **competitive salary.**

**Working hours**:08:30 - 17:00, however additional hours over the peak periods may be required to include early starts, late finishes and weekend working.

As our **Design Room Manager - Flowers designer**, you will manage the overall Design and Innovation Function with JZ Flowers International LTD, creating innovative floral designs ensuring commercial objectives and targets are achieved. Coordinateand deliver training programmes across all sites to improve the quality of floral bouquets and upskill the knowledge of factory operatives. Develop and maintain a positive and effective working relationship with new and existing customers and colleagues atall levels. To liaise with Industry bodies, for the example The Flower Council, ensuring the business develops a high profile in the trade press and media for design and production.

**What you’ll be doing as our **Design Room Manager - Flowers designer**:

- To manage and provide support to the Design team.
- Generate and sustain professional relationships with suppliers and effectively brief them on initiatives.
- Effectively network across the business to access new ideas and concepts.
- Enquire the quotations to support the designs.
- Develop speculative concepts for demonstration to customer.
- Attend meetings with the Account Manager and Customers to present the designs.
- Liaise with the Commercial and Buying team to identify new products and identify promotional and cost-effective products.
- Work with the Consumables Buyer to ensure frequent supply of innovative packaging, concepts and ideas.
- Visit Design and Floristry shows to source new ideas and concepts and present findings to the Account Managers and Costumers.
- Manage and control a sample budget.
- Undertake regular competitive reviews.
- Keep the time sheet of workload to enable us to cost the amount of input by the account.
- Maintain the design room, ensuring it is clean and tidy.
- Attend internal meetings on the behalf of the department.
