An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic registered nurse to join our Endoscopy team.
You will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, have a caring approach. and be a visible leader.
We are looking for a motivated, committed Band 6 Team Leader to work in the endoscopy Department as we expand and develop. You would work alongside the Team Leaders, senior sister and Matron to deliver safe, high quality and professional care. We are a hard-working, happy and inclusive department and are looking for someone who can visibly lead by example, embrace and adopt change, offer supervision to our new recruits and deliver high quality patient care.
You will need to have a good working knowledge of endoscopy and experience of leading and supervising a team.
An understanding and knowledge of JAG and GRS standards and accreditation.
Offer clinical supervision, provide coaching and mentoring to staff.
Supporting and assisting the endoscopists with endoscopic procedures including ERCP, colonoscopy, gastroscopy and bronchoscopy.
Admission, nurse led consent, recovery and discharge of patients.
Shift pattern is 10-hour shifts Monday - Friday with occasional weekend working required.
We offer opportunities for training and development both internally and externally.
We are fully JAG accredited with 3 procedure rooms offering both therapeutic and diagnostic endoscopy. this includes ERCP, Capsule endoscopy and Bowel Cancer Screening.
We also provide bronchoscopy and thoracoscopy for our respiratory patients.

- To provide visible skilled leadership and supervision to the endoscopy team in the delivery of high quality, evidence based, cost-effective patient care in endoscopy.
- You will be visible and accessible to all staff, patients and their carers visiting the department, leading by example, and delivering excellent patient experience.
- To act as a positive role model, demonstrating sound clinical judgement whilst giving advice to other professionals,
- To be an accessible and assertive figure to whom patient’s relatives and staff can turn for assistance, advice, and support.
- To possesses a recognised post registration endoscopy course, or equivalent experience and be responsible for your own professional development, using in-service training, to gain further skills and knowledge in all aspects of endoscopy
- You will be responsible for many aspects of staff management to include development, training and supervision, assessment of competence, sickness, and capability management in compliance with all HR policies and guidelines and supported by the endoscopy Matron
- You will promote and support close working relationships with other team leaders, Matron, and managers for endoscopy, as well as the medical and clinical endoscopists.
- Ensure best practice in accordance with Trust policies and procedures and national Endoscopy guidelines (JAG and GRS) along with the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) guidelines.
- To provide and maintain standards of care as required by the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
