Kitchen Assistant

We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant at Trewartha House, Carbis Bay. 24 hours per week, part time. Generous weekend working bonus, and every other weekend off. As a Kitchen Assistant for Cornwall Care, you’ll be working in our Trewartha home within a team of likeminded individuals who all genuinely care about those people whose homes you are working in.
Trewartha is a home with feel-good factor, the kind of place where your own family would reside - and for some of our staff they actually do Bonds here are strong, between our team and those with the nursing and dementia needs we care for. The layout is a dream, all on one level with a large yet cosy main lounge. The dining room overlooks the sunny garden, with its magnificent magnolia tree.
Soft coloured décor, singing and laughter, resident cats and spa mornings - it all adds up to a wonderful place to be. What you’ll do: To ensure the kitchen maintains a high standard of cleanliness and adheres to food hygiene and Health and Safety procedures. - To carry out any duties as directed by the kitchen staff including the preparation of vegetables and light snacks ensuring excellent standards of hygiene - Follow a daily/weekly cleaning programme - Assist with receipt of deliveries, storage and stock rotation. - Free Meal on duty - To ensure that all equipment is used correctly and COSHH data analysis sheets are followed.
**What you’ll need**: - Basic Food Hygiene and basic food preparation certificates. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. - Friendly, professional, confident, honest and reliable - Ability to work whilst ensuring privacy, equality, dignity and respect for clients. - A good knowledge of health and safety procedures What you’ll receive: You’ll have access to free 24 hour counselling and legal advice services, shopping discounts with high street retailers and local supplier and discounted gym memberships.
