**About the role**:
We are currently looking for an Apprentice Young People's Health and Wellbeing Worker, who can provide high quality support to the clients of Polaris Children Services within the specific project or service aims. The role is a home based role, with travel across Essex at times to meet with and support clients. There would also be an expectation to attend team meetings and events that will vary in location across the county of Essex.
- Role responsibilities: _
- Work directly with young people who present with a range of emotional health and wellbeing concerns, helping to facilitate trust, relationship building and promoting their emotional health and wellbeing
- Work effectively in partnership with the Progressions team and external agencies to support the transition out of statutory mental health services for young people you are assigned to
- Work within internal and nationally recognised clinical governance frameworks to ensure that all young people and families receive a safe, high quality, consistent service
- Attend Monthly training and supervision to enhance your skills and expertise
- Complete a Level 3 Community Health and Wellbeing Worker apprenticeship (time will be provided for studying during your working week)
- Ensure that any safeguarding and child protection concerns are reported in line with local authority requirements, and that appropriate information is provided within required timeframes to support any child protection investigations
- Ensure that service delivery complies with PCS policies and procedures

**Skills Required**:

- Lived experience, or a good knowledge and understanding of services within Essex that support Emotional Health and Wellbeing
- Knowledge and Understanding of the challenges young people face that may impact upon their emotional health and wellbeing and strategies that can be supportive for the management of emotional health and wellbeing
- Hold a valid UK driving licence and unlimited access you your own vehicle, or be willing to travel using public transport

**Qualifications required**:

- 3 GCSE's or above including Maths and English

**About the training**:
Over the course of 15 - 18 months (dependent upon the level of course an apprentice is being enrolled onto), you will study things such as the principles of healthcare and safeguarding, person-centred care & support, physiological measurements, basic life support, dementia, cognitive & mental health support, moving, handling and infection control, supporting daily living, lifespan development and healthcare needs, duty of care and legislation. Higher level courses go into more depth within different pathways such as dementia, learning disabilities and Austism, children & adolescent mental health, combined therapies, complex care, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, substance misuse and acquired brain injury (these topics may differ).

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship programme, you will achieve a Level 2 or 3 qualification and a TQUK Diploma in Care.

**Additional details**:

- Although remote, applicant is required to travel so Full UK drivers license and access to own vehicle is essential.
- Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.
