Barista/server

Do you have a passion for food and coffee? Pickled Pantry is looking for a part time barista/server to join our small, friendly team. We are an independently owned Café in Surbiton, specialising in locally sourced, seasonal dishes. We serve breakfast, lunch and homemade cakes. You can have unlimited hot drinks and free food on shift.

**About the Role**

You will be delivering the best coffee experience to every customer along with outstanding customer service. You’ll need a great personality - we're a small close knit team and we're the sort of place where customers know you by name and you know theirs

If you’re a natural at conversation, and you take care and pride in what you do, then you’ll be a great addition to our team.

You will be taking customer food and drink orders, making and serving drinks to the Pickled Pantry standard, running food to tables, operating the till and demonstrating product knowledge.

You must be a friendly team mate, a coffee lover and have the desire to make our customers feel at home.

**We are open 7 days a week so you must be able to work weekends, bank holidays and school holidays as these will be our busiest times. We are looking for a permanent member of staff.**

**Duties include**:

- Making great coffees
- Overseeing the day-to-day running of the business, working closely with the Manager and the owner of the business
- Taking orders and serving food and drinks
- Using the till and taking payments
- Working to our standards but letting your personality shine
- Managing your time effectively and ensuring all opening/closing duties are carried out
- Maintaining Company standards of Food Safety, Health and Safety and Fire Safety.

**Skills required**
- At least 1 year of barista experience (preferred but not essential)
- Latte art skills (preferred)
- Exceptional timekeeping
- Good communication and people skills
- Confidence to supervise/manage a shift where required.
- Help drive sales and profits. This includes cross selling food and retail.
- Someone who can multitask, work at speed and maintain a calm demeanour
- A willingness to learn, support and help within all aspects of the team
- Be eligible to work full time in the UK
- Fluent in English to a high standard

**Job Types**: Permanent, Part-time
Part-time hours: 24 per week

**Salary**: £9.50-£11.00 per hour
