**Responsibilities**:

- Execute on the daily operational Materials Planning processes in a timely manner: review and act upon ERP messages (expedite, de-expedite and cancel), review stock levels, and create purchase requisitions/call-off schedules to ensure suppliers have clearvisibility of demand.
- Ensure that changes to demand (up or down) are promptly communicated to suppliers, to enable production plans to be set accordingly and appropriate communication with customers
- Monitor and adjust planning parameters in the ERP system, to ensure that data is current and accurate such that the system can be used to provide accurate and timely information on which to determine optimum ordering from suppliers and adjust safety stockand inventory levels
- Ensure replenishment systems, e.g. Kanban, are appropriate and in line with demand profiles such that 'stock-outs’ are truly exceptional and inventory is effectively managed
- Develop supplier relationships and maintain an efficient and effective communication channel to ensure they perform on past dues and achieve a high level of SLISC
- Work to optimise inventory levels, without adversely impacting customer LISC
- Identify potential supply chain failures as part of the planning process and mitigate associated risks
- Liaise with Engineering and Project teams on all projects to fully understand time scale requirements to ensure suppliers meet these expectations
- Facilitate the efficient introduction of new parts and Engineering Changes, whilst ensuring excess and/or obsolete inventory implications are clearly communicated to key stakeholders
- Ensure use of preferred carrier agreements where practicable and logistic analysis is conducted to determine most cost effective and efficient transport modes and methods with both suppliers and customers
- Proactively resolve invoice discrepancies
- Participate in HPT’s and Kaizen’s, to drive continuous improvement

**The Person**:

- Professional qualification in Supply Chain Management (such as CIPS) or a relevant business degree.
- Proven skills in Supply Chain Management, particularly materials management and inventory optimisation.
- Knowledge of JDE (or similar ERP system) - especially within Kanban, Inventory Control, Purchasing and Production modules.
- Capability to complete statistical/analytical work and use the results to drive continuous improvement.
- Sound understanding of Lean methodology, Quality Management Systems, Procurement techniques/terminology and Material Control.
- Knowledge of inventory management and Lean replenishment systems
