**What's the role?**:
We're looking for a talented Creative Director (copy) to support our growing Brand & Creative team in Europe.
We have a small but growing copywriting team that lives as part of a larger Brand and Creative team, including creative operations, content strategy, creative design, conceptual creative, and video.
We work closely with our partners across the marketing organisation to feed their channels with fantastic creative that drives growth and teaches us about our customers. You'll be interested as much in the people we serve with our product as you are in the craft of copywriting, and excited to learn what works best in reaching and engaging them.
You'll be responsible for the growth and development of the team, including resourcing, hiring, and prioritisation efforts.
You'll work side-by-side with developers, designers, marketing experts of all types and flavours, and analysts to understand problems, explore ideas, and put something great in front of our customers.
And you'll support the organisation through the incredible transition that is start up-to-scale up, with existing experience in amplifying your efforts across a growing organisation.
**What will you be doing?**:
- Leading the team that's responsible for all customer-facing copy for Wise customers in paid, organic and website environments.
- Being the in-house expert on all things words — you'll train the people around you from Customer Support to Social Media Managers, and help them deliver great copy that's bang on brand.
- Helping our product and marketing managers think through their copy and marketing ideas before they execute.
- Developing our growing team in craft skills and professional development.
- Working closely with the rest of the Brand and Creative team to deliver best-in-class copy that excites our users.
- Guiding our localisation team in their transcreation efforts to bring our messages to global audiences
- Distilling complex financial concepts into copy that's fantastically straight-forward..and delivering long-form, short-form, buttons, headlines, hashtags, headlines along the way.
**What do you need to bring with you?**:
- We're looking for someone who has experience as a brand guardian - you'll need to know both our users and our tone of voice better than anyone
- Solid experience of developing and running copy training, preferably in a regulated industry.
- Experience of articulating the 'why' behind your decisions. You'll need to convince, to disagree confidently, and to take and give useful feedback
- A pragmatic, common-sense approach to writing, with a good understanding of design and UX.
- Versatility — you'll be just as happy editing a 1,000 word blog as you are crafting a 2 word CTA. And you'll have a portfolio to prove it.
- Planning skills — you'll need to take the initiative on behalf of the team, resourcing them across a wide range of briefs and acting as a key decision maker in prioritisation as objectives (inevitably) change.
