**Kitchen Assistant at Crowborough Beacon Golf Club**

If you are enthusiastic about the Catering business, then a job as a Kitchen Assistant at Crowborough Beacon Golf Club could suit if you are returning to the heat of the Kitchen or is your first step.

You will report to all Chefs within the kitchen environment. Your role is made up of many varying responsibilities including:

- Basic food preparation
- Delivery to customers
- Washing up, cleaning and clearing all kitchen areas
- Unloading and putting away deliveries
- Ensuring all equipment is clean and put away correctly
- Maintaining sanitary and kitchen safety standards

Ideally, we are looking for a Kitchen Assistant with some experience. However, training will be given to ensure you achieve:

- Level 1 Food Safety Award
- Awareness of manual handling techniques
- Awareness of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) and chemical safety
- Experience of kitchen equipment

Desirable and useful qualifications and skills you will be expected to work towards are:

- Level 2 Health and Safety in the Workplace Award
- Level 2 Food Safety Awards
- Experience of dangerous equipment such as knives
- Any relevant experience in a commercial kitchen environment

Alongside some of these we will offer, if you are interested, a training package to develop you as a Commis Chef in which you will be covering:

- Basic food preparation skills such as vegetable preparation
- Understanding of kitchen equipment
- Understanding of cleaning kitchen equipment
- Understanding of cleaning kitchen areas and surfaces
- Ability to prepare and clear food service
- Knowledge of kitchen health and safety
- Knowledge of food hygiene practices
- Good oral communication
- Attention to detail
- Good level of numeracy
- Adaptability to change and willingness to embrace new ideas and processes
- Positive and approachable manner
- Team player qualities

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week
