We are responsible for the entire range of children’s education, health and social care services in all three boroughs. We use a Signs of Safety practice model and approach which ensures the voice of the child is at the heart of everything we do. This role is responsible for the operational oversight of children open to the adolescent safeguarding team (primarily Richmond) open to social care.

About the role
- The Team leader will provide the operational management and leadership support across the London Borough of Richmond supporting the Head of Family and Youth Resilience and other Heads of Service.
- The post holder will be responsible for managing: Senior Practitioners/Social Workers/Social Work Assistant (up to 5), Youth Worker, Counselling Psychologist or Family Therapist.
- This is a unique post in that it is the only team within AfC which requires management oversight of Adolescents across the social care spectrum from the point of referral (assessment), through planning, including CSE reviews, care proceedings, children in or leaving care.
- The post holder will be skilled with adolescents who are the hardest to reach and carry the most risk and thus will quality assure the work undertaken.

About you
- Educated to degree level with a social work qualification and HCPC registration.
- Significant social work practice and experience of managing service delivery for vulnerable children and young people, with particular experience working with adolescents within statutory framework i.e. youth justice, children’s social care.
- Experience of managing people, performance and professional development to get the best out of the team
- Ability to manage high levels of risk, including safeguarding and public protection stemming from contextual factors
