**Bank Support Worker**

Service Name: West Way

**Salary**: £10.00ph

Hours: Various hours available

Our service in Hove, is looking for a committed and empathetic Bank Support Worker, to care for 2 female service users, with complex learning disability needs. Our service encourages activities in and, round the community including, farm visits, swimming,shopping, and participating in day centres in the community.

**The Role**:

- Our service users are non-verbal and use sounds, gestures, and facial expressions to communicate. We would like our Bank Support Workers to develop and expand new communication methods
- You will be supporting individuals to live the life they want within their community in which they live, to build positive relationships and to reach their potential
- Social and emotional support, either at home and/or in their local community
- Supporting service users with their personal care support including personal hygiene needs if required
- Support with their shopping, assist with budgeting
- Building/maintaining relationship with friends and family
- Personal Care
- Household tasks including cooking, cleaning, and laundry
- Going out for walks, meals and other activities that supported individuals may want to experience.

**About You**:

- You need to be a very calm, caring individual with a positive outlook.
- Empathy, caring and sensitivity to the needs of others
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Computer Literacy
- Car driver desirable but not essential

Our Learning Disability services can provide care and support for people with a range of complex and specialist needs. We provide person centred services using a range of support approaches such as Active Support and Positive Behaviour Support to help peoplegain skills and increase their independence.
- In order to protect both our staff and the people we support, unless there are wholly exceptional reasons (which we will consider on an individual basis), it is a requirement that all new employees have a Covid-19 vaccination prior to commencing withAmbient Support, and that they continue to receive Covid-19 vaccinations as required and in accordance with public health guidance throughout their employment with us._
