**Workshop Operations Support**
The Workshop Operations Support, reporting directly to the Production Manager, is a vital member of the management team, ensuring the highest standards in product manufacturing and on-time delivery. This role supports the Production Manager in day-to-day operations and takes full responsibility for workshop management in their absence.
Key attributes for success in this role include strong problem-solving skills, creativity, motivation, exceptional organisational ability, and proficiency in spreadsheets and CAD software. A flair for innovative and artistic solutions would be advantageous but is not essential.
**Job Specification**:
- Execute tasks efficiently and maintain high standards at all times.
- Ensure daily and weekly target outputs are consistently met.
- Monitor staff performance closely and provide clear, analytical feedback.
- Manage the shipping of all products via our shipping company, ensuring timely and accurate dispatch.
- Oversee stock and consumables, source suppliers, and negotiate favourable deals.
- Prioritise tasks effectively based on the production schedule.
- Operate a full range of workshop hand tools and machinery with competence.
- Load and unload materials and products as required.
- Maintain workshop cleanliness and ensure a safe working environment at all times.
- Ensure workshop cleanliness is consistently maintained to inspection levels required for ISO standards.
- Confidently take the lead on complex and challenging tasks.
- Drive continuous improvement in task-based processes and standard practices.
- Conduct quality inspections on completed assembly tasks to uphold high standards.
- Promote excellent housekeeping practices and ensure best practices are shared across the team.
- Develop, update, and maintain detailed assembly instruction guides.
- Train new and existing employees to enhance skill levels and efficiency.
- Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Update internal documents and systems to ensure accurate and current records.
- Perform quality control sign-offs on finished products.
- Reduce waste and implement Lean Manufacturing principles effectively.
- Utilise Google Docs and various CAD software proficiently.
- Perform occasional site work, including setting up event spaces or installing products.
- Organise workflow through the workshop by liaising with the sales team, technical team, and external contractors.
