**The Jubilee Court Decontamination Unit - Glasgow**
**37.5 hours & Permanent**

**We have an opportunity for a Sterile Services Technician to join their team of staff in our Decontamination Unit based in Glasgow.**
**This is a full time role for 37.5 hours, across a shift pattern of 8:00AM - 4.00PM, but flexibility is required considering the unit works rotas.**
**Applicants should meet the following criteria**:
- Excellent instrumentation knowledge.
- Knowledge of all SSD machinery and equipment.
- Knowledge of decontamination and washing procedures.
- Knowledge of sterile packing techniques.
- Knowledge of safety guidelines in sterile services.
- Good organizational skills to ensure instruments are repaired / replaced within SLA timeframes.
- IDSC Technical Certificate.
- NHS Intuition Certificate.
- Hepatitis B Immunisation is required for this job role.
- Ability to work alone and as part of an integrated team.
- Self-assured to speak to a diverse customer base.
- Ability to deliver quality work on a timely basis in order to meet customer and Company deadlines.
- Ideally have experience of Quality Management Systems, ISO 9001: 2015, ISO 13485: 2016.
- Be familiar with and have a good understanding of other decontamination compliance requirements such as HTM requirements, The European Medical Devices Directive, JAG Accreditation, BSG Guidelines, UK Health and Social Care Act and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) requirements, etc
**Duties of this role include**:
- To take responsibility and manage the daily instrument repairs and replacement programme for the unit.
- To provide a first-class decontamination sterile service to the Operating Theatres, clinical departments and relevant paramedical departments.
- To maintain good working relationships with all customers.
- To promote and maintain Health & Safety within the department.
- To liaise with the approved providers for instrument repairs and replacements to ensure the efficient correction and turnaround of instrumentation sets.
- To look for ways of identifying trends of repairs against items to evaluate if things can be done different to reduce the number of repairs and damage to instruments.
- To comply with all relevant mandatory training.
- To be the Unit’s first point of contact relating to Quality issues.
- To ensure daily maintenance and checking of equipment is carried out and recorded.
- To provide guidance and take ownership of all day to day Quality issues, identifying the root causes where applicable and implementing corrective actions with the Unit’s Leadership Team.
- To work at our customer sites, carrying out analysis and audits plus process checks in the pursuits of quality.
- To manage the CHG Decontamination Quality Management and Compliance Systems at the unit.
- To develop and maintain a robust process for the reporting of Non-Conformances.
- To respond to all Non-Conformances and Service Failures within the prescribed time scales.
- To prepare reports on Non-Conformances and Service Failures for each Hospital in line with the agreed SLAs.
- To provide staff training ensuring compliance with policies and procedures within the Quality system and decontamination process.
- To identify improvements to further develop CHG Decontamination’s products and services.
- To work on allocated ad hoc projects in corroboration with the Decontamination Manager.
