**NB: This role is an apprenticeship - **Length of Apprenticeship is 12-15 months.**

**Warehouse Apprentice**

First 12 months is apprentice wage - £215.00 / week (£5.35/hr) - NB: After 12 months then minimum wage for your age group applies if applicable.

Hours of work are 6am - 3pm - Monday to Friday - 45 hours per week of which 40 hours are paid as 60 mins is break each day.

Location of Work - Ewood Foods, Huncoat Business Park, Newhouse Road, Huncoat, Accrington, Lancs BB5 6NT.

**Job Role**

Ewood Foods is looking to recruit a hardworking and proactive apprentice to work in our chiller. Based at our office in Accrington, the successful applicant will be required to work within a busy warehouse & butchery environment in assisting with everyday activity. The successful applicant will be given on job training, learning future skills and will be expected to contribute to the ongoing and future development of our business with great future potential to progress and earning capability.

**Job Requirements**

Grade 4 in maths. (C or above) - This is not essential but will be considered as advantageous in the selection process.

First and foremost you have to have the right attitude and be willing to learn and show interest. Be reliable, turn up to work on time and have a real desire to get stuck in and learn and it will go a long way to helping you succeed. Be proactive, we want to hire someone who will make the most of their time with us. You need to be self-motivated and driven, look for ways to grow and thrive in your role and in turn help add value to our company.

The job can be quite physical at times so successful applicants will need to be of a fit state for physical work and be able to perform manual handling and capable of lifting 25kg if needed.

The ability to pick customer orders in an accurate manner. This is a key role within the placement, so to be successful, **concentration and attention to detail **are absolute necessary qualities to have, as you will be responsible for assisting in the assembling and picking of customer order sheets for dispatch and also that the correct procedures for stock issued are under diligent conditions.

If shortlisted then first you would go on a three week trial period (paid) to make sure the role is something that you want to do and like. After three weeks we will have a consultation period to discuss your thoughts and also what we think and if both parties are happy to proceed then any successful applicant chosen by Ewood Foods must first sign on with our apprenticeship provider before starting and must complete the official apprenticeship process before the apprenticeship can commence

Assist in everyday warehouse activity including stock delivery, storage, picking and stock dispatch

Assist in our in house butchery with packing and dispatch.

**Holidays**:

- 20 days holiday plus 8 public bank holidays per 12 month calendar year.

Please note there is no guaranteed job at the end of the apprenticeship, however, as long as all aspects of the apprenticeship are passed and you are working to an acceptable standard then depending on the needs and circumstances of the business at that moment in time and the fact that we have invested in the time and training we would always look to try and offer a role if possible.
