Walton Academy has an opportunity for a Pastoral Mentor to join our team. This role covers a range of learning development, pupil welfare and administrative tasks to support students and teaching staff. We are looking for a new team member who is passionate about supporting pupils to reach their aspirations and are committed to student welfare. We would very much recommend and welcome you for a visit so you can meet us and understand our community.

Essential:
- Relevant and recent experience of working with young people
- A thorough and practical understanding of issues

- Experience of supporting young people with improving
- literacy and numeracy skills as well as development social skills.
- Ability to be self-motivated and work from own initiative
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing with students and teachers
- Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students and providing equality of opportunity
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
- Confident using technology
Desirable:
- Experience of working with young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities
