**OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB**

To provide a safe, stimulating and varied programme of play for children with special needs in our multifunctional children’s facilities.

Also to:

- Support to children with Special Needs
- Supervise children whilst in Crossroads Children’s Activity Room
- Effectively communicate with service users, work colleagues and managers.

This will involve the provision of personal, social and domestic care similar to that given by the primary carer or as stipulated within a personal care plan in conjunction with advice from the Scheme Manager respecting confidentiality at all times.

**HOURLY RATE**: £12.30 per hour

**HOURS OF WORK**

Children’s Activity Room Support Workers will be assigned work in accordance with an availability sheet which they submit at the start of employment. Work will be allocated on a casual contract in accordance with the needs of Crossroads business and the availability of the staff. One day per week plus Saturday as below:
Working Hours: Tuesday to Friday - 3:30pm to 7:30pm

**AND**

Saturday - 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm

Relevant information about the families who receive Crossroads care will be given, to or subsequently obtained by the care attendant. It is vital that this information is kept confidential and unauthorised disclosure of personal client information is considered to be gross misconduct; which may result in disciplinary action.

You should note that the various duties; responsibilities and associated activities as stipulated in this job description constitute part of a support workers terms and conditions of employment.

**Required Criteria**
- Right to live and work in the UK
- Able to make own way to and from the activity room

**Desired Criteria**
- 6 months previous experience working with children

**Skills Needed**

Establishing Rapport With Clients, Ability to Identify and Anticipate needs
