Brighton & Hove City Council

**Job introduction**:
Brighton & Hove is a great place to live, learn, work and visit. Our diverse and vibrant community is passionate about the city and there’s a shared commitment to celebrating and promoting all that makes Brighton & Hove so unique.

We are just as committed to delivering an outstanding service to our residents as we are in making Tenancy Services the first choice for a Neighbourhood Officer to work.

If you are looking to work in a flexible and forward-thinking organisation and you are looking for an exciting new challenge, then we would be delighted to hear from you.

You’ll be working in a directorate that is dedicated to empowering people from different communities and backgrounds to come together, live well and thrive, supported by our city-wide work on fairness, inclusion and engagement.

**About the role**:
The role of a Neighbourhood Officer is to provide a responsive and customer focused neighbourhood service to the residents of council properties in Brighton & Hove. You will have responsibility for the communal areas of estates, working in a collaborative way with council colleagues, external providers and relevant community networks to improve the estates and the quality of life of residents and facilitate the development of thriving communities, where people want to live.

You’ll be working in a directorate that is dedicated to empowering people from different communities and backgrounds to come together, live well and thrive, supported by our city-wide work on fairness, inclusion, and engagement. You’ll have an ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders, an understanding of the needs of our different communities and residents, and the skills to ensure accessibility and inclusion in your work.

We have a fulltime vacancy available, with some flexible working to support a positive work/live balance. Our diverse team is based across the city in one of our four housing team bases and this vacancy is in our Kemptown office. On the days you are working in the office you will be in a spacious and welcoming working environment and whether working in the office or remotely, you will become part of our friendly and supportive team.

In return, we can offer you a competitive salary, training and qualifications, career progression with the opportunity to become involved and lead on bespoke projects, flexible working, a generous annual leave allowance with the opportunity to buy extra days, staff discounts, and admittance into the Local Government Pension Scheme.

For more information about the organisation and the specific roles please download the job description / person specification.

**Additional information**:
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
