We are delighted to be able to advertise 3 Team Leader vacancies, based at Sevenoaks, Dartford and Sittingbourne. This is the result of the promotions of all 3 current postholders internally here in KMPT. The Community Mental Health Services for Older People (CMHSOPS) offer assessment, diagnosis and treatment for older people with functional mental ill health as well as all age memory assessment and treatment service. The coming year is going to see significant changes in how we manage our pathways of care, aligned with the nationally led Community Mental Health Framework transformation as well as our county wide transformation associated with the Kent & Medway Dementia Strategy and aspirations to improve the Dementia Diagnosis Rate across Kent & Medway. We need Team Leaders that will take a dedicated responsibility for supporting the current operational management of the team as well as leading locally on the movement of functional patients into the all age framework transformations aligned with the ambitious schedule. You will be a compassionate, creative and innovative leader, who takes people with you as you embrace change. You will be approachable, have a can do attitude and be an excellent listener and networker, taking pride in your services and continuing to maintain an excellent reputation for your team and the organisation.

In order to be considered for this post you will need to be able to demonstrate the following:

- Minimum of 3 years posts registration experience in Mental Health
- A Qualified Occupational Therapist or Nurse
- Previous management experience
- Advanced supervisory and appraisal skills
- Advanced clinical experience and knowledge
- Experience of liaising with a variety of stakeholders
- Planning and decision making skills
- Good knowledge of clinical governance and how you can contribute towards this
- Advanced communication skills
- Leadership skills - ability to guide and motivate others in clinical aspects and through periods of change
- Example of contribution to service development.

Under the direction of a Locality Services Manager to provide high quality
mental health services to Older People with Mental Health Needs within a
defined geographical area through the coordination and leadership of a
multidisciplinary elements of the locality service or functional team, or
professional staff group (e.g. nursing and occupational therapy) ensuring that the needs of the target population are met.

To uphold the Trust Values, through developing a positive team “can do” attitude and culture through role modelling and setting out team expectation.

This role demands a clear focus on professional clinical leadership and
coordination of team members, including taking part in recruitment,
supervision and appraisal of staff.

To work closely with staff groups to ensure staff are clinically supervised as well as managerially and ensure there is a focus on reflection and best practice.

To effectively support the locality service manager to embed into practice the quality strategy defined by the Care Group, ensuring quality management systems are in place to deliver the expectation of high performance and quality patient outcomes
